Very clean, very “correctly” done. The V8 convertible that wasn’t. I wonder how this thing’s body rigidity compares to the GT V8 that did exist.
The Laycock and the 3.03 gears means that this thing would easily hit widowmaker speeds, of course.

Oh man. Now you’ve got me looking at MG RV8s, and other MGs.

The very first Costello V8 conversion was done on an open MGB, right? not a GT. I can’t remember anything about special reinforcements (although it probably would have been sensible to do so, particularly if trying to enjoy the extra oomph). Could it also be that the V8 is lighter or more or less the same weight as the stock all-iron MGB engine?
Seems to be very, very nicely done on all the bits that matter. The red octagon badge on the boot and other similar details (V8 badges on the wings) look a bit naff to me though. Not a fan of the Minilite replicas either.

By the time it has a flywheel, I *think* an RV8 would be slightly heavier, but not by much. I don’t know anything about the early conversions, but likely so.

Maybe I am thinking of TR7>TR7 V8 conversions?
The Rover V8 engine was certainly lighter than the boat anchor they used for the MGC... even the drop-top ones.

For my taste, the green one is too new. The gold one looks lustworthy, except that the driver seat is on the incorrect side of the car. (Perhaps the queen will change what side of the road people drive on in order to curry favor with President Trump.)

The red octagon on the bootlid, the V8 badges on the wings? Certainly. But that’s just my opinion.

Oh, I see.
More like “not in the best taste”.

Nope, not going to happen.
The newer one was MGs efforts to keep the MG going of a little V8 roadster.

You could say that.
I mean, the rest of the car is pretty magnificent. Those details (to me) sort of detract from how nice it looks.

No because she wouldn’t or no because you DGAF about the queen? Or both?

No because she wouldn’t.
I love my queen, long may she reign.
I hope Her majesty never meets the tangerine tyrant, I wouldn’t want to taint her history with his presence in it.
The government floats the idea every 15 - 20 years since the 70s of changing the sides. The cost of is so inhibitive that even the cost of changing the roads signs from mph to kph when the E.U. wanted us to go metric was a massive no.

I am happy to learn that you love your queen. I find my president loathsome and quite unfit for polite company, which would absolutely exclude your queen. In fact, I hope she’ll ask her prime minister to rescind the invitation. Despicable man, Donald Trump; pathological liar, serial adulterer and quintessential bully. Getting PLAYED by Kim Jong Un...

I think ‘it’s’ visit is state or official state. Apparently it’s going to Scotland.
I’m not sure if it’s getting played by ‘Fatty the Third’*.
I think he sees a kindred spirit in the tyrant, ‘hey, he’s just like me’.
Chinese nicknames for Kim.
Kim the Fat, Kim Fatty III, Kim fat III, The Fatty on the Train, The Obese Patient and Fatty Fatty.
